„Guardian Angels“ a tribute to brig. gen. Emil Boček (WWII Czechoslovak fighter, 94 years old) and Czechoslovak squadrons in RAF.
Sgt. Emil Boček was placed at 310. Czechoslovak fighter squadron as the pilot in October 1944. In these days all three Czechoslovak fighter squadrons mostly accompanyed Allied bombers in flights over the Germany. In November 1944, Sgt. Emil Boček had to make an emergency landing near Brussels during one of these actions on his Spitfire Mk. IX "NN-Y" because of engine failure. Till the end of the war he flew 26 combat missions and on 13th of August 1945 he returned with other Czechoslovak fighter pilots back to Czechoslovakia. On this symbolical painting are next to his fighter pictured his notional "Guardian angels" Wellington "KX-B" (311th Czechoslovak bomber squadron) and Beaufighter "WM-P" (68th night fighter squadron).
